The Fear-Greed Visualizer is a project I developed to transform the way we perceive market sentiment by turning abstract financial data into an immersive interactive experience. Built using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, the application pulls real-time data from the Fear and Greed Index. This metric tracks whether emotions like fear or irrational exuberance are driving the stock market. To ensure accuracy, the visualizer sources data from the CNN Business Fear and Greed Index, which aggregates seven weighted indicators including stock price momentum, market volatility, and junk bond demand.
Instead of just looking at a static number or a needle on a gauge, users can explore a dynamic 3D environment where the visual elements shift and react based on the current market mood. Lighting, speed, and geometry are all affected by this logic. My goal was to bridge the gap between data science and creative coding to provide a sensory way for investors and tech enthusiasts to gauge the psychological state of the market.
